How does the Helsinki Card work?
Once you have your card, you're all set. All you need to do is show your Helsinki Card at each attraction to be scanned. Some attractions may have exceptions in their opening times so be sure to check before your visit.
There's no need to pay at the gate, all the attraction admissions on your card are included. In addition you can enjoy several special offers.

A convenient timesaver
Start by choosing the card that suits you best, the card is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours. Choose between three card types: Helsinki Card, Helsinki Card CITY or Helsinki Card REGION.
- Helsinki Card – a digital card delivered to your e-mail. Helsinki Card includes all free and discounted attractions but NOT the public transportation.
- Helsinki Card CITY – a physical card to be collected with a voucher sent to your email. Helsinki Card CITY includes all free and discounted attractions and public transportation in zones AB.
- Helsinki Card REGION - a physical card to be picked up with a voucher sent to your email. Helsinki Card REGION includes all free and discounted attractions and public transportation in zones ABC.
If you plan on visiting Helsinki with children, we have you covered even there: children between the ages of 7 and 16 have a rate for children's Helsinki Cards. Children under 7 years are free or gets a discount on most attractions and they travel free on the public transportation.
With the City Card, you enjoy free access to Stromma's sightseeing tours by bus and boat and free admission to all top attractions included in the card. When entering an attraction, simply scan the card instead of buying tickets. Your City Card is activated when you use it for the first time, so start your discovery of the city whenever you feel like it! Please note that the City Card must be used on consecutive days.

Helsinki Card prices 2024 and 2025
The prices of the Helsinki Card will change starting from January 1, 2025. Are you planning a visit to Helsinki next year? As an early bird offer, you can get your Helsinki Card at this year’s price if you purchase it from the online store by the end of 2024. You can activate the card in 2025.

Buy your city card – three card types
Choose between three card types: Helsinki Card, Helsinki Card CITY and Helsinki Card REGION. The cards are available for 24, 48 and 72 hours. Just select the one that works best for you!
Take your order confirmation and collect in Helsinki or use your digital card
If you buy the physical Helsinki Card CITY or Helsinki Card REGION, you'll get an order confirmation (a voucher) delivered to you via email. Pick up your physical card from one of our collection points in Helsinki, in exchange for the voucher.
If you buy the digital Helsinki Card, it will be ready to use right away as a print or on your phone! The QR code you receive is your digital Helsinki Card.
Show your Card or QR code for free entry to Helsinki's top attractions
Scan your card to enjoy the top attractions and best sightseeing tours when you're ready to - your card is activated by the first use. Valid one year after purchase!

Can I use public transport with my Helsinki Card?
Helsinki Card CITY and Helsinki Card REGION act as your ticket for unlimited journeys on public transport around Helsinki including buses, trams, metro, commuter trains and Suomenlinna ferry. If you require transport to / from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport you need to buy a Helsinki Card REGION. For more information regarding this option please go to the Transport pages. Please note that the digital Helsinki Card does not include public transport.
Scan your Helsinki Card on the blue HSL card reader when boarding a bus, tram, or local train, or when entering the metro platform area or the Suomenlinna ferry. The device will beep and show a green light when your ticket is valid. See the transport page for more information on how to use your Helsinki Card as a travel card.
How many attractions can I visit with my Helsinki Card?
You can visit as many included attractions as you like while your Helsinki Card is valid. You can visit each attraction once. All the free attraction are listed on the attractions page.
City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour you can visit as many times as you like during the validity of your Helsinki Card.
Your card can be used in a wide range of iconic, cultural and historic attractions and tours in Helsinki.
